MELAYER carpet (Persia), late 19th century
Dimensions : 195 x 140cm
Technical characteristics : Wool velvet on a cotton foundation.
Three ivory rhombus medallions covered with a thousand flowers encompass in their breasts and in the center a fourth navy rhombus with "botehs".
They are lying on a navy blue field with interlacing flowers. A sky blue border with flowers surrounds the whole.
