KASHGAI carpet (Persia), early 20th century Dimensions : 200 x 140cm Technical characteristics : Wool velvet on a cotton foundation. A brick field with flowers, flowering stems and floral compositions serves as a frame for an imposing navy medallion also covered with the same decoration and having in its centre a small crenellated brick medallion taking up the flower which is at each corner. Two bluish borders with polychrome carnation stems surround the main one with boxes decorated with stylized ivory flowers with multicolored hearts. Freshness bucolic.
