Album with red lacquer-covered boards, 48 colour-enhanced albumen prints, various tones, half of the prints keep good contrasts.
Album composed by the Yokahama studio: curious and picturesque subjects, chrysanthemum nursery, portraits of bonze, geisha, tattooed man, various merchants' stalls, toy shop, animated streets. Kinbei Kusakabe was a colorist and assistant to Felice Beato and Baron Raimund von Stillfried before opening his own studio in Yokohama in 1881, in the Benten-d?ri district.
