Tabriz region, Iran, 15th century Hexagonal in cross-section, siliceous ceramic with black decoration under a turquoise glaze. The tile is decorated with a central flower surrounded by stylized swirling carnations, and six leaves in each corner. Some chips. D. 13cm A set of four Timourid tiles, Central Asia, 15th century of hexagonal, painted in black under a turquoise glaze with a central floral medallion on a ground of rotating flowering stems.
