Issues devoted to Umm Kalthoum, Gandhi, King Abdelaziz al-Saoud and the pilgrimage
Political, generalist and conservative weekly founded in 1927 in Aleppo (Syria) by the brothers Mohamed Fahmi El Hafar and Sheikh Abelkader Hakki El Hafar (1906-1988) who also managed it.
Published under the title El Jihad in its early days, it changed its name to El Jihad El Arabi in 1946. The special issues presented illustrate the motto of this newspaper. A certain conservatism (photo of the pilgrimage to the Kaaba) and an independence militancy through the photo of King Abdelaziz and Gandhi, two heroes of anti-colonialism.
