Attic black glazed kothon with offset lip. 2nd half of 5th century B.C. Lavishly decorated with ribbed corpus and stamped decor in form of palmettes, ivy-leaves, tongues and concentric circles. Underneath red slip. Few little areas where the black glaze is rubbed off are retouched, otherwise intact. Exceptional decorated exemplar of the black glaze ware! With copy of an expertise of the Galerie Günter Puhze, Freiburg!
