FRENCH OFFICER’S HELMET OF DRAGONS MODEL 1845 Crest with gadroons, with rain screen and marmoset, bomb, plumet holder and gilded brass ring. Fur headband. Gilded brass «8» rings on the chinstrap and on the rim of the crest. Leather chinstraps (accident). Black mane and marmoset puff. Inner headpiece decorated with small iron in gold. Visor and nape of the neck lined with leather. A.B.E.
