MANUSCRIT BRIEFING Collectarium juxta novum breviarium parisiense. Sumptibus Joannis Pinel, Archipresbyteri Sancti Severini. Scripsit M. Alexius Trippier Presbyter. 1720, manuscript in-4, 1 f. and 232 pp. in red morocco, wide gilt lace, spine decorated, inner border, gilt edges (Binding of the period). Beautiful manuscript, the text carefully calligraphed, ruled in pink and embellished with headbands, footnotes and initials, all stenciled with coloured inks and in gold. Note the beautiful headband at the top of the first page, with floral scrolls and bright colours. Commissioned by Jean Pinel de La Martellière, archpriest of the church of Saint-Séverin in Paris, the manuscript is the work of a man named Alexis Trippier, a regular priest of Saint-André des Arts and of the Académie des Sciences et Beaux-arts in Paris, from whom we quote a very beautiful office of Saint Nicolas made for the chapel of the Hôtel-Dieu of Montreuil-sur-Mer (cf. Auguste Braquehay, Histoire de l'Hôtel-Dieu Saint-Nicolas, 1913, p. 188). Restorations to the headpieces, corners and spines.
