Letter written from Cayenne in the XVIIth century: interesting testimony of a young volunteer who embarked in Brest in October 1676 in the fleet of vice-admiral d'Estrées.
The knight Parizot writes to his brother and informs him of the victory in Cayenne and of the sending of a galliot that we took from the Dutch [...] to bring the news of our happy success. He asks him to see if the report of the capture of Cayenne that M. the vice-admiral sent to M. de Seignelay, Colbert's son, arrives in Paris.
