17th century embroidered binding, in-12 format, unbleached cloth covered with white satin decorated with flowers au naturel embroidered in colours, first cover decorated in the centre with the monogram MA, the second with the monogram IHS, both embroidered with gold threads, smooth spine decorated along with a sinuous flowering stem (lily, pansy, carnation, etc.).

It was included in the exhibition Livres en broderie, reliures françaises du Moyen Âge à nos jours, organized by the BnF in 1995-1996, and described and reproduced in the catalogue under n°38.
Covers an edition of Les Saincts devoirs de l'âme dévôte, by the PP. de la Compagnie de Jésus, published in Paris by Barthélemy Quenet in 1651-1652 (2 parts in one volume).
The binding is preserved in a modern cloth case.
Lacks a silver fillet along one of the spines.
