Oil on canvas Languedoc, late 18th century Height : 120,5 cm - Width : 98,7 cm Born in 1579 in Pibrac, a village not far from Toulouse, Germaine Cousin was proposed for canonization in 1700. The short life of this ploughman's daughter, who was suffering from tuberculosis and who distributed her little bread to the poor, was indeed strewn with miracles. One day, pursued by her stepmother who suspected her of stealing bread, she opened her apron and discovered an armful of roses. (some restorations and wear)
