Portrait of the sculptor known for his works in ivory and medals. He stayed in Genoa in Italy from 1622 to 1624. Van Dyck also stayed in Genoa until 1627 where he certainly met the sculptor of whom he painted a portrait which is today in Munich, in the Alte Pinacothek.
