French painter born in the heart of Paris, he is the son of Georges Delpy and comes from an illustrious paternal line of painters. He started at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in the workshops of Fernand Cormon, Emile Renard and Jean-Pierre Laurens before perfecting his skills with Charles Fouqueray.
Delpy exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1922 onwards, receiving numerous awards, and was appointed Painter of the Navy in 1931 before being appointed Painter to the Armies in 1945. His daughter Marine has listed 1,630 of his paintings, mainly featuring landscapes of the Finistère region and marine themes, and has dedicated a website to him. Works in the Museums of Le Faouët, the Museum of Fine Arts of Brest and in the collections of the City of Concarneau.
