AVRANCHES or SAINT HILAIRE DU HARCOUET. Pewter pitcher, with shoulder, flared foot and tassel poucier. Countermark: spoon and fork crossed / B.F.A. First half of the XIXth century. Height : 25,7 cm. 25,7 cm. Very good condition - This enigmatic countermark has been found many times on pitchers of the Lower Normandy, Mayenne and Mance types. I now attribute these initials B.F.A to BAZIRE Ferdinand Aimé, active in these two centres since 1830, deceased in 1851, owner and renter of the moulds bearing this countermark.
