DE VIVIER, Marie Letter autogr. signed to Pierre-Louis Flouquet. S.l. s.d 5 pp. on 3 ff., 20,5 x 21 cm, lined paper. Marie De Vivier (Liège 1899-1980) is the author of several novels, including "La géhenne" (1953) and of numerous works for food ("broutilles" according to her own admission). She is best known for "L'homme pointu" (1947), in which she paints an uncompromising portrait of André Baillon, whose mistress she was; she also wrote an essay about him and published (1975) and then prefaced (1986) "Un homme si simple" (A Man So Simple), published by Jacques Antoine. A biting letter to Flouquet, editor of the "Journal des poètes": "If I have appointed you as an anthologist of quat'sous - well, Sir, there is no need for me to explain this to you myself. Consult your lists, consult your dictionary of poets. Your crime is to clutter up the poetic field [...] to confuse [...] camaraderie with poetry [...] not to know what real poetry is".
