CENDRARS, Blaise Séquences. Paris Éditions des Hommes nouveaux (13/6/1913) In-8° (1 small russet on title, rare and minimal stains). Br. with yellow printed cover (slightly defective, small tears at head and tail). First edition of the author's 3rd opus, published on a self-publishing basis. Edition "reserved for subscribers" at 150 copies on hollande à la forme. According to a note on the copy of Albert 't Serstevens, a great friend of Cendrars, and according to Sonia Delaunay's statements, the work would have been published on a self-publishing basis, just like the first two of Cendrars, thanks to a small inheritance. The address "4 rue de Savoie" mentioned on the title was indeed the one of the attic room Cendrars occupied at the time. Described as a "youthful sin", this text was excluded by Cendrars from his complete works. Ref. Talvart & Place II:332.
