Anthology of the new French poetry. Paris Sagittaire, Simon Kra (1924) In-8°. Black half-maroquin with bands signed J. Liekens, rust-coloured laid paper boards set with gilt fillets, smooth spine titled in gold, back covers and endpapers in the same laid paper, little trimmed, orange cover (shorter than the body of the book) and spine included. In matching lined slipcase. Nice copy, very fresh inside. First edition. Edition of 112 copies, one of 75 on Lafuma paper (n. 56). Preceded by an anonymous preface, this selection brings together 54 poets, from Baudelaire to Radiguet, each presented by an unsigned note, with some "unpublished" poems. The whole constitutes an unexpected and rather astonishing panorama of the modernity of the time. Double autographed mailing to Christian Bussy: by Louis Scutenaire "Affectionately for my dear Christian Bussy, Here is the collection which is my breviary the reverend Scut" and by Marcel Mariën: "Continuation of the dedication, between the meat and the waffle, amicably on behalf of the pewter potter Marcel Mariën". Prov. Christian Bussy (1936-2019), Belgian journalist, essayist and literary critic, a great specialist of surrealism.
