Girl from Kandy, Sidda, 1975
Bronze
Signed and dated
15,7 x 9,8 x 7,1 in
This work stands out as a rarity from Wander Bertoni's early creative period. A particularly beautiful patina surrounds the reduced abstract forms of the seated figure.
The bronze is part of the work group "The Indian Diary (1975 - 1980)" and is presumably the first example of the 7-part edition.
Literature: Wander Bertoni, Indisches Tagebuch, ed. by the University of Applied Arts, Vienna, Jugend & Volk, 1985, p. 88 (text on Mädchen von Kandy on p. 81).
Open-air museum Wander Bertoni in Winden am See: Exhibit displayed in gallery (No. 43), VK with EUR 20.000,--.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to Dr. Waltraud Bertoni and Mag. Astrid Lefenda for their kind support and professional assessment.
