Rare large flintlock rifle called "de boucanier", octagonal barrel on the first quarter, finished with a brass sights, punch surmounted by a thunder crown, calibre 18 mm, length 142,5 cm; large lock mounted with three screws, flat body, engraved with fillets and, in the middle, with a large fleur-de-lys, hammer with engraved swan's neck, bassoon without flange, battery and spring with a flange of the type 1717, it is signed inside: "PERRIN"; silver alloy fittings, cut and engraved, cut and engraved brass butt plate; wooden stock, probably from the islands, lightly carved, embellished with silver decoration, formed by bands bordered by braids and adorned with studding; the two plates of the stick are decorated each with a carved sun, the center made with the same elements, the shaft is decorated with four small coins with the arms of Spain in silver, of which two are missing and presents numerous wears on the length and a lack at the end (approximately 13 cm); total length 1,83 m. (Missing a rod loop and the rod). Early 18th century. Fairly good condition. A PERRIN is listed in Saint-Etienne, circa 1717. PROVENANCE: former Christian ARIÈS collection.
