Gouache on ivory, circa 1840, signed lower left. 15 x 12 cm. The portrait presents Anne de Liégeard in bust form wearing a black dress and a blue satin headdress, in front of an armchair on which a shawl is thrown. Anne de Liégeard, daughter of Georges de Liégeard, baron d'empire and prefect of Hautes-Alpes; she married Louis-Antoine Viel, sub-prefect of Briançon and prefect of Chinon. They had a daughter, Henriette-Adélaïde Viel who married Eugène Bois, deputy of Finistère. Wooden frame and gilt bronze of the period (traces of Xylophagus)
