A famous and superb work, one of the most beautiful publications of the time. It was published in 84 issues, each with a cover, a four-page printed text giving a notice on the songs and the notated tunes and a part of engraved text (four pages) containing the text of the songs and the vignettes illustrating them.
The rich illustration, engraved in intaglio, includes three drypoint title-frontispieces after
Trimolet and a large number of compositions after Daubigny, Grandville, Trimolet, Steinheil, Boily, De Beaumont, Meissonnier, etc.
A splendid copy, very fresh, in very fine period bindings with rocaille decoration.
