[Psychiatry - Manual - Guide - Psychotherapy - Therapeutics]
This set includes 5 volumes with didactic scope.
They are, in fact, theoretical advice, manuals or guides...
Two works are directly intended for apprentice psychiatrists. Both entitled "Manual of Psychiatry", they date respectively from 1905 and 2007. They are thus the witnesses of 102 years of evolution in the practices and in the understanding of Psychiatry.
The 1905 book, which was quite a precursor, is a milestone in this discipline and was used for a long time by medical students (as evidenced by the stamp of the medical interns at Bicêtre). It deals with all the facets of psychiatry, from the doctor's work to the diagnosis, including the patient and his various possible illnesses.
The 2007 edition is much more complete, precise, clear and corrects certain errors that can be found in the 1907 edition.
All the disorders are described, with a historical overview, theoretical and practical models and advice for practitioners.
These two books with similar objectives are witnesses of the progress in terms of medicine. They present techniques, practices, advice, reflections and studies useful to psychiatrists in order to fully grasp their discipline.
In addition to these two books, there is a "Practical Guide to Psychiatry" which deals only with possible diseases and disorders, their symptoms and treatments.
Another manual is present. This is the "Manual of Psychiatric Therapeutics", which lists the therapeutic methods in use, the various biological treatments on the market, the therapies and their effects, as well as the "Therapeutic schemes".
The book is clear and well documented, with tables and diagrams to facilitate understanding.
The last book in this set is intended for trainee psychotherapists.
Entitled "Analytical Psychotherapy", it provides a lot of useful information about the principles and applications of psychotherapy.
This volume, published by Presses Universitaires de France, brings a detailed practical perspective to the theory.
This fairly complete and uniform set of textbooks and theoretical guides for psychiatrists and psychotherapists. Their didactic, clear and scientific vocation, largely exemplified, make them reference works for all those interested in these fields.
This set includes 5 books.
