Iran, 18th century
A basin with a rounded body, decorated with a chiselled band of cartouches on the neck, inscribed in nasta'liq script, alternating with medallions, one of which bears the name of 'Ali ibn Hossein. On the body, multi-lobed medallions decorated with arabesques of palmettes.
Condition: wear and small accidents; base replaced.
