Emile BOURCART lived and worked in Tahiti illustrating the life and landscapes of the Pacific Islands. A 4 pages article in the ILLUSTRATION OF 1938 by Jean Sigogne on the life in Tahiti is illustrated by works of BOUCART who, after GAUGUIN, knew how to render the magnetic charm and the mysterious aspect of the islands using "an orgy of vivid colors peculiar to the Tahitian landscape".
