Vishnu Lot n° 79

Bronze India , 17th to 18th century Weight: 806 grams Dimensions: 17 x 8 x 7 cm Provenance: Private collection Switzerland Vishnu standing on a lotus flower on a square platform. To his feet is a smaller kneeling devotee. Vishnu is wearing a decorated dhoti and a scarf is billowing around his arms. He has four arms holding his battle club or gada, a lotus flower, a conch shell and prayer bead bracelet. The expression of the deity is attentive and friendly, the head decorated with a high crown. From the back we see another hair decoration. The statue is slightly leaning backwards.
