HANUMAN Lot n° 65

Bronze India , 19th century Weight: 445 grams Dimensions: 12 x 4,5 x 4 cm Hanuman, another main character in the Ramayana story, God of Wisdom and Courage. Usually he is shown as a mix of monkey and human but here he seems more zoomorphic. The monkey king is seated on a branch or leaf with his left foot supported on the right leg, his hands joined together in front of the chest. The long tail in the back is raised. He is wearing a small loincloth and a crown.
