Landscape painting by Wen Zheng Ming (1470-1559), hanging scroll.
The hanging scroll is painted by Wen Zhengming in 1557 from his studio Yupan Shanfang 玉磐山房 and depicts a trip to the mountain on a summer day. The vegetation on the mountains in lush. There are two scholars climbing the mountain with walking sticks one after the other on the left side of the painting. One scholar stops to enjoy the scenery accompanied by a young servant in the close view of the painting. The servant is holding a zither in his arms. The painting style is peaceful and quiet.
