Autograph card signed "P.Verlaine" addressed to Gabriel Vicaire.
Paris, 5 September 1892. Brown ink, in-12 oblong. (Smudging, slight lacks at the upper corners without affectation).
Two poets correspond. VERLAINE addresses his friend Gabriel
VICAIRE, himself a lawyer, writer and poet.
"That's it, think of me when you can. In the meantime, give me news from time to time and send me verses... I don't intend to stay here forever [Verlaine is probably referring to his stay at the Saint-Joseph hospital, rue Didot, from which the postcard is sent] but I'll be here for at least another 15 days. I'm working terribly: cheers, sir [...]".
