dating: 1863 - 1865 provenance: USA, Rifled, cylindrical 44 cal. barrel with foresight, the base with 'I' and 'C' marks. Smooth, six-shot cylinder with serial no. '41xxx'. Working mechanics. Patent and company mark on the sides of the frame. Smooth, wooden handle. Bluing at 60%. Second only to the Colt and Remington, it was one of the US government's most widely used revolver models during the Civil War. See 'Flayderman's Guide', 9th Edition, page 374, 7A-114. length 37 cm.
