dating: about 1870 provenance: USA, Round, rifled, high rib, foresight, .44 gauge barrel. Six-shot ribbed cylinder with burnished automatic extractor, marked 'a 1' as well as the lever, the whole gun silver-plated (90 %) and finely engraved with floral motifs. Mother-of-pearl grips (small missing parts). Serial number '64xx'. In unrelated box, modified for this revolver. Very scarce. See a very similar engraving on another revolver in 'Smith & Wesson American Model', by Charles W. Pate, 2006, on page 310, especially the front side is very similar to our example. length 36 cm.
