Statuette presenting a standing figure on staggered legs, his face in a diamond-shaped space, delimited by the long nose in relief. Wood, old patina and marks of use. Ngbaka, Ubangi region, Democratic Republic of Congo, early 20th century. H: 29 cm. Provenance: - Former Marceau Rivière collection, Paris. - Former private collection, Paris, acquired from the above. Note: A sculpture stylistically very similar is published in Joseph Cornet's book "Art d'Afrique noire au pays du fleuve Zaïre" in 1972 and in Jan-Lodewijk Grootaers' reference book "Ubangi" in 2007
