Collection of 32 lithographs, brown half-chagrin, smooth spine decorated.Lalaisse (1810-1884), French painter and lithographer has published a large quantity of lithographs on regional costumes, especially Breton or uniforms. He also illustrated a hippological work: La Connaissance générale du cheval: études de zootechnie pratique. Here the horses represented, sometimes in a setting or with characters, are mares and stallions coming from the stallion depot of Libourne, Angers, St Maixent, Napoléon-Vendée, Aurillac, Rodez, Blois, Saintes, Lamballe, Tarbes, etc. The breeds are mentioned.
