The artist Picasso contributes to the renewal of ceramics in the 20th century, when he discovers Madoura's workshop in Vallauris, and realizes the creative possibilities offered by this material, until then considered as a minor art. The clay inspired him, and his creative imagination, combined with the rigorous production methods of the workshop, did the rest. We find in the drawing of this cup the energy of the line of this great artist-craftsman, once again in the service of Nature, in the drawing of the bird under the sun.
