Tokyo 1964. Michel Jazy, 5000m © L'Équipe 18 October 1964. In a few minutes, Michel Jazy (2nd) was going to take the lead in the 5000m final in a stadium where a terrible storm had just darkened the sky and soaked the track. The Frenchman, Olympic 1500m runner-up in 1960 and European champion in 1962, was running towards victory when, with 60m to go, he saw the American Bob Schul emerge, followed by a German and then another American. "The failure of my life", commented Jazy, who came fourth. Back in France, the athlete received three bags of mail... Enough to get back on the track, his career and to beat a few world records. Single later print. Edition 1/1. Black and white piezographic print on Awagami Bizan White Medium Handmade 200g paper. Flamant art frame. Floating box made to measure. 42 X 59,5 cm
