Antwerp 1920. French delegation at the opening ceremony © Collections L'Équipe 14 August 1920. This was the first time that the French wore the Gallic cockerel at the Olympic Games. Since the beginning of the 20th century, this crest had already appeared from time to time on the chests of footballers and rugby players, but at the end of the Great War, patriotic emblems were in order. The proud gallinaceous bird gradually became the sign of recognition of the tricolour sport. The beret, on the other hand, is a bit out of fashion. Single later print. Edition 1/1. Black and white piezographic print on Hahnemühle FineArt Baryta Satin 300g paper. Flamant art frame. 40 x 60 cm
