Pierre Chazelat (born in 1964) Photographic montage of surrealist movement. Signed at the bottom right. Dimensions at sight: H: 80; W: 120 cm with frame: H: 105; W: 145 cm Pierre Chazelat is an artist who takes a singular approach combining surrealism, dreamlike and baroque. In his works, the contemporary mixes with the romantic to give birth to immense panoramas where the natural and the fantastic come together. This former photographer who lived in Africa for a long time before working for advertising and Parisian fashion houses, creates sophisticated settings. He is inspired by his history and draws from the world around him to create unique painted works, with the desire to cross different periods of our history. Thus the wild fauna walks in the vestiges, sometimes rusted, of a modern architecture surmounted by a baroque iconography drawn from the paintings of the masters of the 16th and 17th centuries. This unlikely marriage gives birth to surrealist frescoes crossed by a celestial light which offers a certain spirituality to these atmospheres.
