HEUER (CHRONOGRAPH MONACO CHRONOMATIC 15 / GREY REF. 1533 G), circa 1972
Rare version of the racing chronograph worn at the time by the English F1 driver Jo Siffert. Its version with a blue Chronomatic two-counter dial was worn by Steve McQueen in the film Le Mans in 1971 (his production company Solar ordered a series for the film's drivers). Square-shaped solid case with sharp angles in brushed steel and interlocking back (claw system specific to the model, the reference of the tool to open the case is n°033, Heuer logo). Metallic silver dial with the Monaco marking at 9 o'clock in homage to the F1 Grand Prix (slight traces). A blue-grey counter with a minute totalizer at 3 o'clock and a small seconds counter at 10 o'clock, date window at 6 o'clock. Bicolour spatula hands with luminescent substance and large red second hand. Applied steel hour markers, tritium dots and graduated minute and second scale. Delivered with two straps, a grey oiled vintage pilot leather and a black control leather.
Movement: Self-winding Chrono-Matic calibre signed HEUER / Buren 15 Swiss.
Size: 38 x 45 mm (with handles). Condition: Good condition (Vintage Pininafarina pilot's case)
