A very nice illuminated Quran, Eastern Europe, signed Ḥajiūn ‘Ali from Yusuf Al-ra‘jî's family, and dated 1290AH/1872AD.
Arabic manuscript on cream paper, 700ff., 10ll. in bold black naskh, 6 illuminated double pages, polychrome verse markers, headings in purple or green on a bed of scrolling vine, within polychrome cartouches issuing palmettes filled with arabesque into the margins. Signed on the 3rd illuminated frontispice.
