Genealogy of Mrs de Fransures. Manuscript dated in 1780, in-4, marbled calf, triple gilt fillet and corner fleurons, large red morocco title-piece on the first board, ornate mute spine, roulette on the edges, red edges (Binding of the period). Elegant 18th century manuscript dedicated to the de Fransures family.
The genealogy of this family originating from Picardy or Beauvaisis was compiled by M. de Corselles, on the titles which are in the archives of Villers-Tournelles, in the hands of Mr. Dubos d'Hornicourt in Flers near Amiens, of Mrs. de Fransures of Cambrai and St. Quentin, and in the archives of St. Lucien of Beauvais and of the cathedral church of Amiens and barony of Serquigny.
Carefully calligraphed and very legible, this manuscript includes a title decorated with large painted coats of arms, three heraldic plates presenting 15 painted shields of arms (and 18 empty ones) and the genealogical memoir, which occupies 48 pp. An addendum of 2 pp. and other loose items are attached to the volume.
Beautiful manuscript in attractive contemporary binding.
Slight epidermis to the first cover, two small tears to the second.
