for the year 1767. Lyon, Aimé de la Roche, 1767. In-8, olive morocco, scalloped lace, coat of arms in the centre, spine decorated, gilt edges (period binding). A copy bound in olive morocco with the arms of Choiseul.
The coat of arms is close to those of Gabriel-César de Choiseul-Praslin (1712-1785), except that it has twenty billets, five in each canton, and not eighteen (see OHR, 1815). We believe that it belonged to Étienne-François de Choiseul-Stainville (1719-1785), duke of Choiseul, principal minister of Louis XV from 1758 to 1770.
Accounts and list of neighbouring communes written in pencil on the white endpapers.
Binding a little rubbed, lower corners dulled, small ink stains on edges, marbled endpapers removed, pale wetness to first eight leaves, some foxing.
