Le Rommant de la Rose nouvellement reveu et corrigé oultre les precedentes impressions. Paris, [Pierre Vidoué pour] Galliot du Pré, 1529 [1530 n.st.]. In-8 of [8], 200 ff, green morocco, roulette set with gilt fillets and fleurons at the corners, ornamented spine, red title and tomaison pieces, inner lace, gilt edges (18th century binding). First edition in round letters of the Roman de la Rose, preceded by the Exposition moralle de l'œuvre attributed to Clément Marot and illustrated with numerous woodcut vignettes in the text, including one on the title. A copy ruled in red pencil, bound in 18th century decorated green morocco, with some old annotations, slightly faded. Handwritten purchase note at the end of the volume: ex libris musæi C. Dupré, 2 vols. purchased on July 15, 1779, 24# rare book. After this date, the second volume was lost; the copy is incomplete with the second half of the edition (ff. 201-[404]). Many leaves heavily browned or foxed; old restoration in the blank of the title; censored vignette in pen on f. 1; ink stain on upper board. Bourdillon, ed.
