S.l.n.n. [Hagenau, Heinrich Gran], 1490, in-4 of [45] ff. (of 46), brown chagrin (modern binding). Unique edition of this rare biblical index, also known as Tabula novi et veteris testamenti. It is printed in long lines in gothic script. This precious Alsatian incunabulum is one of the first books to come off the presses of Heinrich Gran, the prototypographer from Haguenau, who was one of the first printers in Alsace along with Mentelin and Eggestein. A citizen of the city of Haguenau as early as 1489 - the year in which he produced his first dated printing, the Cornutus de Garlande - Heinrich Gran subsequently worked frequently for the Augsburg bookseller Johann Rynmann, but also for Johann Knobloch of Strasbourg, Konrad Hist of Speyer and Franz Birckmann of Cologne. Wilhelm Seltz succeeded him around 1527. A well-preserved copy, despite scattered light spotting. Annotations washed out on the first leaf. Missing the last blank leaf (f6).
