SCULPTURE in lacquered wood, formerly gilded, representing the Amida Buddha, eyes half-closed. He is in front of a halo decorated in light relief with a lotus and clouds from which 28 rays emerge, seated in dhyani mudra on a blossoming lotus resting on a pyramidal base with several tiers decorated with lotus petals. (Eight rays missing, halo damaged and reattached, lacquer jumps, restorations to the hands, cracks and small damages) Japan, Edo period, first half of the 19th century HEIGHT.
