A finely chased and gilded bronze clock with a rotating circle, representing a covered urn decorated with a large pine cone grip, the handles with scrolling Greek motifs supported by lion masks holding a ring in their mouths, around the lid a snake coils, the tongue set with Rhine stones indicating the time, the vase rests on a half fluted column with asperges decorated with four garlands of oak leaves held by bows of ribbons, the base decorated with crossed ribbons and a frieze of laurel leaves on a square base. Signed Lepaute on the back of the base.
