The intervention of the hand is a prerequisite for all of Olivier Degorce's recent photographic work. The shooting begins with an ephemeral staging, arranged almost haphazardly with the elements that are there (objects, prints) and with a spontaneous, volatile, but fertile idea. Here, the peaches are covered with a layer of paint which, while modifying them, exalts their texture, which one hesitates here to say rough or velvety, matt or thick. The gaze does not exhaust the tactile suggestions of the image. Their support, decorated with concentric circles, has also lost its initial identity, which we can only assume. In this miniature theatre scene, the fruits become planets or coloured balls.
