Spine with richly decorated nerves. Text on two columns. Lamp-ends. Title finial. Light rings in the margins, occasional heavy foxing, bites split in the leather, faded headpieces. A modest but solidly bound copy. Jean Mabillon was a historian and scholar blessed by the Congregation of Saint Maur (from 1654), paleographer and member of the Académie des Inscriptions et Belles Lettres (in 1701).
