A silver and silver-gilt oval teapot of baluster form, standing on a pedestal with barley grain mouldings, the lower part decorated with a removable applique of foliage alternating with stylized flowers; in the centre, a wide openwork band of flowers and foliage is applied and riveted; the pouring spout finished with a griffin's head, the lid's knob grip and the geometrical handle in black wood; with a silver-mounted filter inscribed with the hallmark of small guarantee after 1838. Master goldsmith's mark illegible ending with a D ? Paris, 1789-1792.(very small shocks) And title and guarantee marks of Paris, 1798- 1809.
