LARGE silver CHEST, PARIS 1689-1690 by Jacques FLORAT received in 1664. Circular in shape, it rests on three scrolled feet supported by blackened wooden knobs decorated with mouldings. The bowl, whose edge is worked with fleur-de-lis and plant motifs, is embellished with three uprights enriched with scrolled consoles. The bottom is decorated with an openwork grid of a rose. The underside of the stove has an attractive motif of cut-out and radiating leaves. The handle is made of wood with later sides (an old restoration to a foot attachment).
