Beautiful Regency period loop door knocker in cast iron. In the shape of a gibecière buckle. The sides of the buckle, chiseled in light relief of foliage, close in the center on a grotesque mask chiseled in the round and continue in the upper part by two volutes flaring outwards. They are carved with foliage and griffon heads framing a small mask topped by a large foliage mantling and finished with an acanthus leaves base. Very elegant finely chiseled work from the end of the Louis XIV or the beginning of the Regency period, France. Height: 22,2 cm - Width: 17,9 cm
