Syrinx seashell couple on silver-plated stand
H. 26 25/32 in - W. 9 27/32 in
Syrinx Aruanus shell, largest shell in one part of the world, dressed up on silver plated stand. It is the biggest "snail" on earth, more exactly underwater. This enormous marine gastropod (up to 18Kg) has a completely yellow body. A delicate work of art in Maillechort, with a coral shape makes the link with the silver base. A classic inspiration for Cabinets de Curiosites, but that was extremely rare in Europe, since coming from Australia.
